Custom Lippan Art: What to Expect and How to Order It

Spoiler alert: It involves a bit of back-and-forth, a pinch of patience, and a whole lot of mirror magic.
You’ve seen the reels, admired those mud-and-mirror beauties on Pinterest, and now you want your own slice of desert dazzle on your wall.
Not the mass-produced stuff with suspect glitter from “ArtWorldOutlet88,” but a real, hand-crafted Lippan piece - your story, your palette, your vibe.
But ordering a custom artwork sounds… intimidating? Vague? Like one wrong WhatsApp emoji could leave you with a 5-foot camel motif when you wanted a peacock?
Don’t worry. I’m here to decode the process, spill some behind-the-scenes studio tea, and help you bring home your dream Lippan - without breaking into a cold sweat mid-scroll.
Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall - What Do You Really Want?
Let’s begin with some soul-searching (decor-style).
When you reach out for a custom Lippan piece, we’ll first ask the Big Three:
Where is it going? Living room? Above the bed? That oddly bare entryway?
What mood are you going for? Traditional? Boho-minimalist? Full Mughal-e-Azam?
Do you have a color palette in mind? Or do you want us to play décor-Cupid?
Most people start with a vague idea:
“I saw this circular one on your Instagram” or “My mom wants something auspicious for Diwali.”
That’s totally fine. We love moodboards, blurry screenshots, even scribbles on tissue paper. (Yes, that’s happened.)
From there, we co-create - like a mood-ring for your wall.

The WhatsApp Ping-Pong (a.k.a. Designing Together)
Now comes the fun bit: conversations.
Once you say, “Yes, Priya, I want something made just for me,” we kick off the design process.
Here’s what to expect:
A few layout sketches from me (not museum-ready, but enough to get your imagination sprinting)
Material previews, especially if you’re curious about muted vs. shiny mirrors, natural mud finish vs. painted layers
Tiny choices that make a big difference (Should we do 5 petals or 8? White background or earthy beige?)
This back-and-forth can take 3–7 days, depending on how fast we’re vibing.Think of it as a slow dance - not speed dating. And no, I won't ghost you after you approve the sketch.
Pro tip: If your mother-in-law, best friend, or interior designer is involved, just loop them in early. Saves all of us from late-stage “but we thought it was going to be square?” shocks.
Mud, Mirrors & Magic (a.k.a. Production Time)
Once the design is locked, the real work begins.
Hands in the mitti, mirrors laid with love, and many, many chai breaks in between.
Most pieces take 10–20 days to complete. Why the wide range?
A 2x2 ft floral square takes less time than a 5-ft tree of life
Some colors (hello, indigo and gold) need multiple layers to pop
Monsoon = slower drying time = mild artist tantrums
You’ll get a few updates during the process - either studio shots or close-ups of in-progress motifs.
Bonus points if you spot my cat Mow walking through wet clay.
Reminder: Each piece is 100% handmade. No stencils. No machines. No jugaad shortcuts. Just soul.
Shipping: Handle With Drama
The final boss level - shipping.
Our packaging is basically Zomato order meets treasure chest.
Your Lippan will be:
Bubble-wrapped thrice
Sandwiched between thick foam layers
Housed in a custom-fit wooden crate (because India Post has no chill)
Domestic shipping takes 4–6 days, depending on your pin code.
For international orders, we’ll quote timelines and courier charges upfront - plus help with customs paperwork.
Once dispatched, you’ll receive:
A tracking link
A tiny care guide
A gentle reminder to unbox it like Ranveer Singh entering a wedding
Real Talk: What Could Go “Off-Script”
Alright, time for a reality check.
Here’s what might happen - and how we handle it:
Color looks different IRL: Screens lie. We try our best with lighting-corrected previews, but shades might shift slightly. If it’s wildly off, we’ll fix it.
Mirror breakage in transit: Happens rarely, but if it does, we replace or repair at no extra cost.
Last-minute size change request: Once we start crafting, resizing = full restart. So please triple-check your wall measurements before confirming.
(And no, we don’t do glow-in-the-dark Lippan. That trend died with neon socks and TikTok astrology filters.)
